Due to the graduations of Emilio Coppola and Avi Dogim and the resignation of Paul Anderson of Massachusetts, The Urantia Book Fellowship General Council chose three replacements to serve on the Council until the Triennial Delegate Assembly in summer 2021.

The three new Councilors are Karen Larsen, Albert Einstein Lassiter, and Sue Snider Seccombe.

Supporting, Engaging, and Reaching Existing and Emerging Communities of Urantia Book Readers

David G. Schlundt, Vice President of the Urantia Book Fellowship

The Problem. The Urantia Book Fellowship (UBF) traces its roots back to the Forum, the group of people who participated in the long process of preparing the Urantia Book.  Once published, the Forum became the Urantia Book Brotherhood (later renamed the Urantia Book Fellowship) and was organized to formally represent and support local societies and study groups.   In the 65 years since the Urantia Book was published, much has changed.

Many truth seekers discovered the Urantia Book during the 1960’s and 1970’s.  This cohort formed much of the core of the Urantia Book community participating in study groups and attending conferences.  Some, like me, received the gift of the Urantia Book from parents. Many discovered it on their own. However, time marches on and our community is aging.  It is time for the Urantia Book Fellowship (UBF) to take a look at how it supports current students of the Urantia Book along with how it is reaching out to truth seekers around the planet.  An ad hoc committee of the UBF was formed to study how to best serve existing and emerging communities of Urantia Book students. It is my privilege to share with you what we have learned so far.

Finding ‘Stuff’ on the Fellowship’s New Website

As many of you know by now, last November the Website Team, leveraging years of prior work by dedicated individuals, introduced significant enhancements and new capabilities into the Fellowship’s website.

Chief among the goals of this newly redesigned website are: ease of use and features to quickly locate resources of interest (such as Urantia-Book related articles, study aids, Urantia Book Fellowship publications, videos, audio recordings, brochures, downloadable ebook versions of the Urantia Book in English and other languages, and more).

Thought Adjustment Between the Two Brain
Hemispheres

A book review with commentary on The Master and His Emissary: The Divided Brain and the Making of the Western World Iaian McGilchrist, Yale University Press, 2009

Bro. Joshua J. Wilson

49:5.13 Brain-typeseries. The one physical uniformity of mortals is the brain and nervous system; nevertheless, there are three basic organizations of the brain mechanism: the one-, the two-, and the three-brained types. Urantians are of the two-brained type, somewhat more imaginative, adventurous, and philosophical than the one-brained mortals but somewhat less spiritual, ethical, and worshipful than the three-brained orders. These brain differences characterize even the prehuman animal existences.

God’s Tour Guide by Tom Choquette

Just imagine God asking us to be His tour guide while on this amazing planet. Our Spiritual Soul Mate, or Adjuster, is asking us to personally introduce Him to the experience of life in the finite.  What a great honor for each of us to give God the experience of our life. If you think about it, this is exactly what our Soul Mate is asking us to do. This is actually the one thing we can do for our Creator, and in doing so, we turn ourselves and our lives over to the guidance of our beloved Adjuster.  In return, our Creator offers to be our tour guide up to and through the portal of Eternity. THIS is the main reason the Urantia Book has found each of us.

Spirit of Truth #21 Merritt Horn

Merritt Horn has studied the Urantia Book for over 50 years. He steeps himself in the book’s meanings and investigates its subtleties. Then, he employs this understanding to do what he sees as our job: to reveal God to our fellows in the best way we can.

Spirit of Truth #22 Andre Radatus

The angels had an interesting way of getting me back to Colorado.” Andre starts by sharing his experience with angels and his certainty about their work. He knows, rather than feels, their presence. He sees evidence of their efforts behind the scenes in moments where his life came together when it could have been otherwise.

Spirit of Truth #23 Chris Lepine

Chris is strapped-in for the adventure of his life! As a teenager, he was an earnest, shy kid who actively wanted to experience God. He grew up in Boulder during the counter-culture 60’s when many were seeking spiritual growth. During a casual conversation, Chris asked his neighbor if he had any books on ESP. A couple of trips to the neighbor’s library led Chris to the Urantia Book.

Digital Art Live

Digital Art Live, a magazine for digital artists and art lovers, interviewed Gary Tonge recently. He gets a great and rare opportunity to explain the UB to a friendly interviewer. I so enjoyed reading it, I hope you will too. You can find the Magazine, and the interview, via the following link.

A Water Jug’s Usefulness
by David Glass

Friends,

Today Richard's Rohr's (online) contemplative message discusses many sides and aspects to a  consideration of how Jesus' early comparatively more quiet, reflective, socially conformist activities and practices led to and provided for his preparation to become the dynamic world-transforming spiritual idealist of his mature self.

We see that transformed individual emerging from such early spiritual enrichment engaging himself in a culture-rocking public ministry which so challenged the highest and most powerfully  entrenched religious and political establishments of his day as to threaten to incite public uprisings that stood a good chance of overturning their authoritative (oppressive and tyrannical) control of the contemporary society.

A Urantian in Second Lifeby Yman Juran (aka Jean Ascher)

My name is Yman Juran and  in real life I am a performer and have been traveling with my Danish ChangHigh Circus for 39 years. It's a special children's circus where we teach and travel with kids of all ages in Scandinavia, Europe and the Middle East.  I began life within my first virtual game called Second Life (SL) on the 27th of February 2007. Like a newborn babe, I had never before played any computer game, had no idea how it functioned, what I would be able to do or experience, but I was soon to learn. I did it because I had this idea to create in virtuality the same circus as I had in real life. But I was soon to discover and experience a completely new world.

You initially join the virtual world by creating yourself as an avatar, any kind of living creature from a snail to a fire-juggling trapeze artist, a Sister of Light, Life and Love, to a Solitary Messenger!  Imagine yourself as a midwayer, a seraphim, a Solemnity of Trust, a Mighty Messenger! You can be whatever you create. You will meet all kinds of creatures in Second Life and behind each one is a living personality in front of a computer somewhere in the world and you can have a relationship with any of them, either virtual or real! Second Life or SL is a grand  creation of many worlds, in which you can select to live, participating in an endless array of imaginative and educational experiences.
